Over the last few decades, certain things have changed the way we see the world like Satellite & HD TV, smart phones, tablets etc. but one thing which stands out is a Digital Camera. Sony Corporation revolutionized the entire photography world with the introduction of its digital camera range and today provides a camera for everyone’s needs.

Evolution and Sony Cyber Shot

In 1981 Sony Corporation introduced the world to first ever still video camera named Mavica. In early 1990’s, Sony introduced the highly popular Mavica FD range having a 0.3 megapixels sensor and using floppy disks (remember them?!) as storage devices. With fierce competition from other giants like Kodak & Fuji looming over their heads, Sony had to act fast and hit hard. This led to the creation of the “Cyber-shot” range famous for its point and shoot function which became an instant hit in the market. One shirt might not interest all as everyone has their own requirements – Sony used the same theorem for its Digital Camera range especially Cyber Shot. With constantly evolving technology, digital camera’s became even more powerful and now possess camera’s having sensor more than 30 megapixels.

SLR & DSLR

With introduction of digital memory sticks and photography becoming increasingly acceptable hobby and profession, out came the SLR (Single Lens Reflex) and DSLR (Digital SLR) range of cameras. With the option of choosing shutter speed, aperture, manual focus, digital screens etc. this was an immediate hit with the masses and overtook the earlier pocket friendly range. Sony possesses a huge variety with cameras classified under beginners, advanced amateurs, expert’s series.

Sony Alpha

Sony Alpha series is fashioned in a way that the next model in the series will have additional features over the below models. In 2010, Sony DSLR range underwent a huge change and saw the introduction of SLT (Single Lens Translucent) Cameras which has the capacity to shoot movies at full 1080p HD quality. Sony also provides the option to choose between the A-mount or E-mount lenses as desired. Latest entry to the club are the new ultra compact mirror less.
